A day porter maintains the cleanliness and hygiene of a facility. They perform routine cleaning tasks, such as:
Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and wiping surfaces
Maintaining restrooms, including toilets, urinals, counters, and sinks
Sanitizing rooms
Performing carpet maintenance
Replenishing paper supplies
Emptying trash
Replacing lightbulbs
Spot cleaning public display cases and display items
Day porters also monitor areas of the building, such as:
Entrances, Parking lots, Lobbies, Restrooms, Cafeterias, Kitchens.
Day porters also need communication skills to respond to crises by reporting to the right persons.
